Our Commitment to Health and Safety
At Destiny Homes, the safety and wellbeing of our team, our subcontractors, and our clients is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that every person who works with us, or visits one of our sites, should return home safe and healthy every single day.
We follow proven industry best practices and maintain strict compliance with New Zealand’s health and safety regulations. Our approach combines responsibility, accountability, and proactive risk management to ensure a safe and productive work environment on all our projects.
Our Health and Safety Vision
“Everyone safe, every day.”
We are committed to fostering a culture of safety, where prevention and care come first, and where every member of our team feels responsible for protecting themselves and those around them.
Leadership
- We provide the right training, equipment, and resources so our people can carry out their work safely and effectively.
- We identify and manage risks systematically, ensuring hazards are controlled before work begins.
- We encourage open communication, with Health and Safety Representatives available and regular team discussions to raise concerns and share improvements.
- We continually learn from experience, including near misses, to improve our systems and processes.
- We take immediate action when issues are raised, ensuring concerns are addressed fairly and quickly.
Staff Commitment
- Take responsibility for your own safety and the safety of your teammates.
- Speak up if you see unsafe behaviour or conditions — safety is everyone’s responsibility.
- Follow safe work procedures and instructions from supervisors.
- If you are unsure or don’t feel confident completing a task safely, stop and seek guidance before starting.
- Never use unsafe or broken equipment.
- Report all accidents, incidents, and near misses promptly so we can learn and prevent future harm.
Our Promise
At Destiny Homes, we value our people above all else. Protecting the health and safety of everyone on our sites is not just a requirement — it’s our responsibility. We work hard to ensure every person returns home safe and well, every day.
